Derek had a super outing at the Loch Moy starter! A 28.9 in dressage with 2 unlucky rails in show jump, and a super fun xc course to finish 4th! Super proud of how confident and ridable he’s becoming!!

We capped off our NC trip with Carolina International HT! ‘Stuck on Gold’ tackled the green numbers in his first prelim! And while this quirky #OTTB has some homework to do, I’m BEYOND proud of how far he’s come! We also took the opportunity to get young ‘Island Nominee’ used to the bigger venue and lots of atmosphere; he handled it like a seasoned pro, and we are very excited for his future! ‘Stuck on Gold’ handled the cold weather like a total pro this weekend scoring a personal best in dressage of 23.3 and he was fast and confident around XC. Unfortunately the freezing cold rain and atmosphere in the stadium ring resulted in a few green rails but he ended up 4th overall and is feeling ready for Carolina next weekend!

‘Island Nominee’ despite some green moments had a GREAT weekend gaining confidence in each phase! I’m so thankful to be able to get him out in the bigger atmosphere at such a young age.

Jess Sappenfield kicked off her show season with a great weekend with ‘Flat Creek’ earning second in their novice division. We’re all very excited for their partnership!
