“Derek” is currently competing novice, schooling training level. Has been in professional training with Hebets Miller Eventing for the last year. Hacks out alone and in a group.
Derek would suit a young rider or adult amateur in a program who doesn’t mind a safe but quirky ottb wanting to take their time to produce him to the 1/2* level.
Up to date on vaccines, farrier, and dentistry. Derek is great for the vet, farrier, trailering, handling off property, and clipping! He can live outside or in a stall w/ turnout. Turns out alone or in a group, currently on night turnout with 1 other gelding.
Derek is a mild cribber and is controlled with a collar. He did fracture his RF splint bone in turnout and had surgery to remove it beginning of April 2023, which has healed great and has no limitations!

The Alpha2EQ kits use biology to address lameness, joint inflammation, and soft tissue injury. It is a pretty wild process! Through the Alpha2EQ process, vets are able to separate plasma from your horse’s blood and inject that into the problem areas. Think about it like your regular joint injections, but super charged and more effective because it comes from protein the horse already produces!
